22/07 Philippines mua trực thăng tuần tra ở biển Đông

TT - Báo Philippines Standard Today ngày 21-7 cho biết Chính phủ Philippines sẽ chi 3,2 tỉ peso (75,1 triệu USD) mua tám máy bay trực thăng đa chức năng W-3A Sokol của Ba Lan để chuyên chở binh lính và tuần tra các khu vực cần thiết, kể cả quần đảo Trường Sa.

Máy bay trực thăng đa chức năng W-3A Sokol

Máy bay W-3A Sokol có sức chứa 14 người với tốc độ tối đa 235 km/giờ. Các máy bay này sẽ được bố trí tại các đảo Kalayan thuộc quần đảo Trường Sa của Việt Nam.

Bốn trong tám chiếc trực thăng sẽ được chuyển về Philippines trong tháng 11-2011 và bốn chiếc còn lại sẽ được bàn giao trong năm 2012.

Cùng ngày, Cục Hải dương Trung Quốc (SOA) cho biết nước này đã thử nghiệm thành công tàu lặn Giao Long ở độ sâu 5.000m vào lúc 3g sáng 21-7 ở phía bắc Thái Bình Dương.

Tàu Giao Long có thể lặn tối đa 7.000m và là tàu lặn sâu nhất thế giới. SOA cho biết tàu này sẽ được thử nghiệm ở độ sâu tối đa này vào năm 2012.

Trong khi đó, tờ Đại Công báo của Hong Kong ngày 20-7 trích lời Thứ trưởng Ngoại giao Nga Andrei Denisov tuyên bố Nga sẽ tiếp tục giúp đỡ Việt Nam thăm dò dầu khí ở biển Đông, xuất phát từ lợi ích của Matxcơva.

Báo cho rằng trong bối cảnh căng thẳng đang leo thang ở biển Đông, tuyên bố của Nga cho thấy Matxcơva muốn chứng tỏ sự có mặt của họ ở biển Đông.

Song quyết định của Nga là xuất phát từ lợi ích kinh tế chứ không có bất kỳ ý đồ chính trị nào, cũng không gây ảnh hưởng đến mối quan hệ đối tác chiến lược với Trung Quốc.

27/07 Chinese Embassy in Vietnam celebrates Army Day

Chinese Embassy in Vietnam Monday held a grand reception to mark the 83rd anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).

Zhen Zhongxing, military, naval and air attache of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam said in a speech at the reception that Chinese PLA has witnessed enormous developments in the past 83 years.

Zhen said at present, the world is faced with increasing non- traditional security challenges. Chinese PLA would like to enhance cooperation with army forces of other countries to combat terrorism, international crimes, natural disasters and pirate attacks to safeguard peace and prosperity.

Zhen said China and Vietnam have maintained good momentum of military exchanges. He expected the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to be further advanced.

Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh said in a speech at the reception that Vietnam will never forget the great and precious assistance rendered by the Communist Party of China, Chinese people and Chinese PLA for Vietnam's revolution and national construction.

Vinh said this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties and the Vietnam-China Year of Friendship.

Vietnam strongly believed that bilateral friendly relations will continue to develop in a stable and firm way for peace, stability and development of the region and the world, said Vinh.
